Breed-Height-Weight Guide!
After a few questions about this, I decided to write up a quick guide for things like the relationship of a horse's breed, height, and weight. A few basics first, however...
1. Horses are measured in hands. There are four inches in a hand. So that means no such thing as 14.8 hh (hh=hands high). 14.0, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15.0, etc.
2. Ponies are any equine less than 14.2 hh. Now, there are some breeds (such as the Arabian) that sometimes are under 14.2 hh. They are not a pony, as they are part of the Arabian breed.
3. Just to get in the right ball parks, the average Shire stallion weighs upwards of one ton, or 2,000 lbs.. Shetlands average 330 lbs. to 440 lbs.
Let's get down to business now, shall we? Keep in mind that the heights will be more exact than the weights, and nothing is entirely set in stone. Please don't come shrieking "I HAVE A 14.0 HH THOROUGHBRED" because a) probably not true and b) there are always exceptions.

Now, if you have any questions, PM me or look for me in the c-box. Like I said before, please don't start whining that these are incorrect. The weights are purely educated guesses, but they all depend on the individual horse. The heights should be fairly accurate, as they came from my "Encyclopedia of the Horse" by Elwyn Hartley Edwards. Sooooooo yep! Enjoy! And please do not rip it off. Just ask, I'll probably let you use it. But ask!
Thanks dearies, ♥ Ollie! and Kayd
P.S. This is certainly not a complete list of horse breeds, so if you would like to see a breed added I'll do my best. Once again, use your manners please!
